A flawless mission for the space shuttle Endeavour has a rendezvous with disaster when it is damaged by debris from a devastating asteroid impact on Earth. One of her crew dead, another on the verge of going mad, shuttle commander, Susan Corin, faces the daunting challenge of holding her splintering crew together while trying to make it to the only safe haven they have - the International Space Station. Limited reserves of air, fuel and time raise the stakes, as they must get to the space station and raise its orbit before it is destroyed by the growing debris cloud. On the way, they have a ring-side seat to the catastrophe unraveling on the planet below!
